Weaning at 8 months and feeling weird about it

My supply is dropping and I've decided to stop, which I'm at peace with logically and not at all emotionally. Nobody tells you that you might grieve it. Did anyone else find the end harder than the start?

The hormonal part being real is oddly the most comforting thing anyone's said. Thank you.

That grief is hormonal as well as emotional — prolactin dropping is a real physiological shift, not you being dramatic. Going slower helps if you can. Be kind to yourself for a few weeks.

I cried in the kitchen the day I stopped and I'd been counting down to it for weeks. Both things were true.
