Six weeks cleared me for 'everything' and I don't believe her

Had my six week appointment, was told I'm cleared for all normal activity, and the whole thing took four minutes. Nobody looked at my abs, nobody asked about leaking. I can feel a gap above my belly button. Am I supposed to just... start running? What did your six week check actually cover?

That's such a common story. Nobody's failing here — the six week model just wasn't built to catch this.

Second this. I ran at 8 weeks after my first because I was 'cleared' and ended up in PT anyway at 6 months, just angrier about it.

This is exactly what I suspected and hated suspecting. Booking someone.

PT here — a four minute clearance is unfortunately typical and it isn't an assessment. Being 'cleared' means your tissue has healed enough to not be dangerous, not that your core and pelvic floor are ready to load. If you can feel a gap, get assessed properly before you run. Please don't take that as alarming, it's very treatable — it just deserves eyes on it.
