Contact naps — am I making a rod for my own back

She'll sleep 2 hours on me and 20 minutes in the bassinet. My mom keeps saying I'm creating a habit. But also I'd really like her to sleep. Is this actually a problem I'm making for later?

Enjoy it honestly. With twins I never got to do it and I'm still a bit sad about that.

The back point is fair, I've been folded like a deck chair. Cushions incoming.

No clinical reason not to, and a newborn's nervous system genuinely regulates better on you. The thing I'd watch is your back — get set up properly so you're not hunched for two hours.

Mine contact-napped for months and now sleeps in her own bed like it was never a thing. The 'rod for your own back' line is usually from people who didn't do the naps.
