A nesting party is a great way to show an expecting mama and her family your support and love by helping them prepare their home for the arrival of a new baby.
Aside from all the tasks, make sure to set aside for some nesting party activities, too!
Built-In Breaks
Sometimes guests can get uber-focused on the task at hand which is amazing, but planning built-in breaks is a great way to make the event more memorable and fun. Here are some ideas to set your timer and add to your itinerary:
- 30-second dance party every 30 minutes
- 5-minute stretch break every hour
- 10-minute massage train every hour
Treasure Hunt
Ahead of the party, plant Easter eggs or envelopes in super good hiding places around the house for another idea to add to your nesting party activities list. Let guests know to look out for them as they complete their tasks. This is a fun way to thank guests and also ensure they’re doing their jobs thoroughly. Ideas to include in the eggs or envelopes:
- Small gift card to coffee or other local spot for treats
- Note of gratitude from the mama
- A yummy treat!
- Clues to a bigger prize basket

Document the Party!
Although it’s not a traditional baby shower, make sure to capture the memories for the mom-to-be. If someone has an instant camera they can bring, this is a great way to have some fun with the documenting. Or, create a shared photo album that everyone can contribute to from their phones.
Have guests take part in a “BINGO” card photo challenge. Some ideas to add to the BINGO card:
- Take a selfie with the pregnant mama
- Group photo with at least 3 other guests
- Selfie of yourself completing your task
- Sneak a photo of someone else doing their task
- Group photo with at least 6 other guests
- Photo of yourself in the nursery
- Glam photo of the pregnant mama
- Catch someone laughing
