Mother Muna in 40 Weeks: From Idea Conception to Subscribers

On November 28, 2022, I sent an email to various perinatal care providers to introduce myself and share this idea I had about a new kind of gift registry for mamas. A resource to help normalize caring for mom first. A platform for families to raise funds for essential care. And a tool for care providers to further their support and reach.

The key differentiation would be that the care providers would receive the gift funds directly. Not only would this be important for the providers who are choosing to be a part of the site, but it would also give families the accountability to receive the care they intended, and their communities peace of mind knowing their gift was used for something mama actually needed.

One of the responses I received was from Krista at Earth Milk Moon. We chatted over email for a bit and played some phone tag. On December 14, 2022, we finally caught each other on the phone and had a long phone call about both of our visions. Fast forward to September 20, 2023, Krista became one of Mother Muna’s first subscribers to upgrade their accounts. The time it took from idea conception to functioning reality was 40 weeks. How beautiful is that?
